Emma was in her room jamming out to her favorite celebrity. She loves Hannah Montana and her parents even say that Hannah Montana is Emma’s role model. Not every celebrity is a good role model because they are into drugs, they are always getting arrested, and they do not portray the right image when off camera. Drugs are not a very good influence for kids. Kids look up to their role model and nine times out of ten that role model is a celebrity. Many of the teen icons do drugs, and many of the kids see them doing drugs and getting caught for it. For instance, Brittney Spears she was a hit when she did not do drugs. Brittney started out as a wonderful role model but the fame got to her and she turned out to be into all different kinds of drugs. Many kids looked up to her and found out she was doing drugs. Kids wanted to be just like her, so some of those kids started to get into drugs. Not only is it illegal it is unhealthy. Smoking is very unhealthy it causes lung cancer. As well smoking causes second hand smoke for everyone around the person smoking. A pop sensation Miley Cyris recently was caught on video smoking Salvia from a bong. That is not a very good role model; there are tens of thousands of kids who look up to her. Now come to find out that she was smoking the second she turned eighteen. Miley Cyris is not a good role model. Lindsay Lohan has been arrested more than once. I know when I was growing up everyone, including myself, looked up to Lindsay. Now look at her, she gets arrested just about every weekend that is not the best role model. Not only does she get arrested but when she had to go before the judge she had some choice words wrote one her finger nail. Lindsay acts out every weekend and her fans that consider her to be their role model see what she is doing. When she finally had to go to jail she got out a long time before her sentence required her to stay. That does not show a kid how to be responsible for their actions. Kids do not want to see their favorite person getting arrested; it just makes that child act out and trying to be just like his or her role model. Paris Hilton is another example of a role model who gets a sentence to be in jail and gets out within forty-eight hours of being there. If any other person had done what she had they would not have been able to get out as quickly as she did. Celebrities are not good role models because they get arrested so much. Celebrities should have more self-pride then to just walk let their selves go, know that half the world’s population is watching every move they make. Kids look up to them and see what they are doing and seeing them go to these parties and get drunk. Then parents wonder why their kids are doing the things they do. This is just yet another reason why celebrities are bad role models; they do things out in public that kids want to do by following everything they do.
